I was referred to the practice from my dentist due to my insurance. I honestly wish I would have went some were else and just paid in full for my surgery for wisdom teeth removal.

I never had surgery or even had a local anesthetic used on me before. The only time I have ever had to use any type of pain medication was for a car accident back in high school, and the hospital gave me morphine while being admitted and Vicodin for the pain at home. But anyways, while having my surgery for my wisdom teeth done, I woke up to them trying to break my last tooth and while they were stitching me up. I remember just being in a lot of pain, trying not to cry. They finished, sent me home with gauze, an at home care sheet and a prescription for Percocet. Like I expected, I was swollen and in a lot pain. The Percocet and Motrin was not working. I was taking the Percocet every 4 hours with 2 Motrin every time. I had this done on Thursday, so all weekend I suffered with the most horrible pain I ever had. I couldn’t eat, drink, sleep, open my mouth or even talk with out crying because of the pain. When Monday came around, I called them and talked to Jessica (one of the nurses during my surgery) explained to her what was going on and her response was, “I’m sorry, but there is nothing we can do. That’s why the doctor prescribed you 28 Percocet instead of 12 because of the pain you’ll be in for removing so much bone from my bottom jaw. Just make sure your taking the medicine ever 4 hours and rinsing with salt water.” I followed the take home care sheet word from word. Nothing worked! Icing it made it worse. So after spending hours of crying, I couldn’t take the pain anymore and went to the ER. They examined me, nothing looked abnormal from just looking at it. So they switched my pain medication, motrin dosage, gave me more antibiotics and an oral rinse (just in case of an infection in the bone) and sent me home. I was still in the most horrifying pain the rest of the day and all night, the pain meds they prescribed me was not working. So I just ended up back in the ER the next day. They ended up admitting, putting me on morphine which thankfully took the throbbing away, and sent me for a cat scan and blood work. Test came back normal but they couldn’t understand why I was having the pain I was having day 5 of post surgery. So they admitted over night for observation. They had 4 different types of pain medications alternating every other hour it seemed just to get a head of the pain and make me feel better. Assuming it was an infection they couldn’t see, I was finally discharged later the next day with even better pain medications and another antibiotic.

Not that all that really matters to most of you, but my point of all of it was how this practice handled the situation. Instead of telling me “there’s nothing they can do”, you would have thought since they done my surgery that they would have asked me to come in to examine my mouth, make sure there was no dry socket or infection. But instead they don’t take in consideration of how their patients are doing post op. They didn’t even schedule me a post op exam to make sure I healed correctly. So now I’m exactly a week out from my surgery and in horrible pain STILL, thankfully the new pain medication makes the pain bearable!! Luckily the ER thought there was something more they could actually do to help me even though they didn’t do the surgery. Glad I had all 4 done at the same time so I don’t have to go back to that earful, joke of a place!

Had molar which the filling fell out. Apparently the tooth was rly bad according to the 1St dentist I saw. They wanted to pull it right away. I explained my extreme nervousness (they only wanted yo numb me) n it wasn't till the were attempting to open my mouth they realized I wasn't joking!
See, wen i was younger (@19) I had a tooth pulled. The experience was horrible as I felt the grinding of it as it came out. Then there was the aftermath of personaly removed the chips the dentist missed. A few yrs later in my mid 20's I had my wisdom teeth pulled plus one more that had been crushed by the wisdom teeth. They fully knocked me out for that. It was a much better experience! One I was hoping to have again if truly need be.
So after looking up a few more dentists in the area (that accept medicaid) I choice ARLINGTON OEAL SURGERY. They told me over the phone they can sedate, I assumed that meant knock me out cold! Which they can do that also, just not in my case, since it's just one tooth. Instead he prescribed me 3 anti axiety pills n instructed my to be 45 min early for the extraction appointment.
Earlier today I showed up as directed n downed those suckers... 45-55 min later they called me back. Dr. Bartholomew asked how I feel, "they don't seem to b doing anything" I told him. I'm 6'4" n 250lbs. I asked again to be knocked out. N he explained why they don't for just one tooth n he asked me to trust him. The worst of it was the needle/numbing part. In all honesty, if it weren't for his calm n encouraging support talking through it and his assistants doing likewise, but most importantly how the assistant lean on you so u don't feel completely alone but assured, I wouldn't made.
After a few min wait for numbing to set came the big moment, the tooth extraction... again came the assurance "squad". And honestly what felt like maybe 2 min, if that, it was over n I hadn't felt one uncomfortable tug. Just a lil violated from having a tooth pulled, lol jk.
Thank you guys so so very much!

I went to have a second Molar removed by
Dr. Bartholomew. He was very upbeat pleasant. I wanted to be sedated but he said no (that would be over kill for 1 tooth.) i explained WOULalways get dry socket and that my General Dentist suggested i be stitch up after the extraction. Dr. Tim said no, (you can get dry socket either way) finally i explained i get panic attacks when i am in the dental chair. He talked to me the entire time he injected me. It was a very very Nasty tooth. (Smelled horribly) Dr. tim had to cut it in two. Well after he got it out he asked for a tool to chisel down some bone.
Oddly enough the assistant said that tool was in the Auto Clave. So he had to make do with something else... Overall i liked Dr Bartholomew
(I wish he would listen to patients with nervous disorders better. And be a little more understanding) at this point i give Dr Bartholomew a 4 out 5 (cause he helped me and i am grateful) HOWEVER 4 DAYS LATER I ENDED UP IN THE WORST PAIN IN MY LIFE. I WANTED TO RIP MY HEAD OFF AND STICK IT IN ICE. LOL CRAZY... I DID EVERYTHING I WAS TOLD. DIDN'T SMOKE
FOR 5 DAYS (WHICH WAS HARD) I RINSED AFTER EVER MEAL. WARM SALT WATER. I EVEN RINSED WITH CLOHEXIDINE .
I USED ICE (HEAT FOR TIGHTNESS) FYI HEAT MAKES YOU WORSE. WELL AFTER 5 DAYS I PAGED DR. BARTHOLOMEW. (NEVER CALLED ME BACK) TURNS OUT HE WAS OUT OF TOWN AND WILL BE GONE FOR 2 WEEKS. (YOU WOULD THINK THE ANSWERING SERVICE WOULD OF KNOWN THAT) DAY 6. I CAN SEE A SMALL WHITE BONE BETWEEN WHERE THE ROOT TIPS GOES IN. I CALLED THE OFFICE AND THE LADY WAS POLITE BUT TOLD ME HOW THE DR. WAS OUT OF THE COUNTRY. (SHE COULD GET ME IN ON THE 29 TH-- 14 DAYS
LATER. NO POSSIBLE WAY I SAID . I AM DYING IN PAIN. ISN'T SOMEONE ON CALL?
NEXT THING I KNOW ANOTHER LADY GOT ON THE PHONE (THE ASSISTANT WHO HELPED W/MY EXTRACTION) I TOLD THE WHOLE STORY AGAIN. I SAID THIS FEELS LIKE THE WORST DRY SOCKET I EVER HAD.
SHE TOLD ME DR. BROKLOFF IS ON CALL
BUT HE IS AT THE FAIRLAWN OFFICE.
SHE SAID MAYBE HE MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP. MAYBE WAS STRESSED AGAIN.
I ASKED HER TO CALL OVER. (SEEMS TO ME
THAT WOULD HAVE MORE VALIDITY AND MORE PULL) NOPE!!! I HAD TO CALL MYSELF. (EXPLAIN IT AGAIN) I CALLED
AND STRESSED HOW BAD I FEEL. CAN YOU COME IN AT 1PM? TODAY. WAS THE REPLY.
OH GOD I THANK HER. I ACTUALLY FELT SOME HOPE (1ST TIME IN DAYS) WHEN I GOT THERE I ONLY WAITED 5 MIN AND WAS TAKING TO THE BACK. I WAS PLACED IN A CONSULTATION ROOM? IN WALKED IN DR. BROKLOFF HE SAID HI (NEVER INTRODUCED HIMSELF.) THAN SAID WHATS WRONG? I AGAIN EXPLAINED MY STORY. TO MY SURPRISE HE PEEKED IN MY MOUTH FOR 10 SECONDS. (NEVER EVEN GOT OUT A DENTAL MIRROR OR A LIGHT. JUST THE DENTAL LAMP OVER THE CHAIR)
HE SAID I GOT SOMETHING TO HELP YOU.
GOOD I THOUGHT, I AM.IN GOOD HANDS.
I THOUGHT HE WAS GOING FOR A NEEDLE OR SOME DRY SOCKET PASTE. NOPE!!
HE HAD A LIL CUP WITH A FLUID IN IT (PERIDEX) AND TWO Q TIPS. IT PUT IT OVER THE SOCKET. HE SAID IF YOU DO THIS IT WILL HELP YOUR PAIN. MY GOD MAN I AM IN TERRIBLE PAIN PLEASE DO SOMETHING ELSE (THIS IS WHAT I SHOULD OF SAID)
I ASKED WHATS THE PROBLEM? IS IT DRY SOCKET? HE SAID YES IT COULD BE.
(COULD BE? WHO SHOULD I ASK FOR SURE
I WAS THINKING) I SAID CAN YOU PACK IT?
HE REPLIED I DONT THINK IT NEEDS PACKED RIGHT NOW. JUST USE THIS THIS STUFF (FLUID IN THE CUP) I WILL GIVE YOU A PRESCRIPTION FOR IT. I FELT SO LET DOWN.. HE NEVER EVEN OFFERED TO NUMB ME UP. (ATLEAST BREAK THE PAIN CYCLE FOR A FEW HRS.) I ASKED HIM IF TOMORROW ITS NOT ANY BETTER WHAT DO I DO? HE SAID CALL ME!! I WILL TRY TO PACK IT BUT I HAVE CHARGE YOU $50.00
I SAID DOESN'T MAY INSURANCE PAY FOR THE PACKING? HE SAID NO!!!! I BEGUN TO SEE THE WHOLE PICTURE. YOU SEE I AM ON STATE INSURANCE. MAYBE BROKLOFF DOESN'T TAKE MY INSURANCE (I THOUGHT HE DID) REGARDLESS I DIDN'T HAVE $50.00 BUT MEDICAL ETHICS LEADS ME TO ASSUME SINCE HE IS COVERING FOR DR. BARTHOLOMEW (WHO DID MY SURGERY AND TAKES MY INSURANCE) THAN I SHOULD RECIEVED QUALITY CARE REGARDLESS OF ABLITY TO PAY. SAY I HAD MY JAW WIRED SHUT AND HAD COMPLICATIONS WHERE I REQUIRED EMERGENCY SURGERY. NOW THE HOSPITAL CALLS THE ON CALL DR. (BROKLOFF) IS DR BROKLOFF GOING TO MAKE ME PAY HIM BEFORE HE DOES MY EMERGENCY SURGERY? AND IF I DON'T HAVE IT WILL HE REFUSE. WELL ONE MAY SAY THIS IS APPLE TO ORANGES. NOT REALLY.. CAUSE I HAD A PROCEDURE AND HAVE A EMERGENCY (SEVERE PAIN ECT.)
THE GUY ON CALL FOR MY DR. WANTS TO CHARGE ME FOR SOMETHING PROVEN TO HELP. THATS PROBABLY WHY HE DIDN'T OFFER TO GET ME NUMB. (HE WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE ME) IN ALL FAIRNESS
I AM ONLY ASSUMING. AND I AM SO GRATEFUL HE GOT ME IN AND SAW ME.
I AM ALSO SURE THE PERIDEX SOLUTION IS
A VALID TREATMENT. BUT I WAS IN SEVERE PAIN. NEVER REALLY TOLD WHAT WAS WRONG. NEVER REALLY EXAMINED.
(OTHER TEETH LOOKED AT. PERHAPS THE ADJACENT TEETH COULD OF BEEN AN ISSUE) INFACT I WAS TOLD MOLAR #2 HAD TO COME OUT AS WELL DUE TO DECAY.
I WISH DR TIM WOULD OF REMOVED BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. BUT I THINK HE WAS HOPING MY GENERAL DENTIST COULD SAVE IT. NOPE! THE G.D. SAID SORRY BUT THAT TOOTH MUST ALSO BE REMOVED.
ANYWAY MY POINT IS I REALLY FELT LET DOWN BY DR. BROKLOFF. LIKE I WAS
A LOWER CLASS PATIENT.I ASKED HIM WHAT THAT LIL WHITE STRIP THING WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SOCKET? HE SAID IT WAS A SCAB. FELT LIKE BONE I THOUGHT BUT I TOOK MY PRESCRIPTION AND BEGAN TO WALK OUT.
I STOPPED AND ASKED AGAIN. IF I AM STILL IN SEVERE PAIN TOMORROW WILL YOU HELP ME? HE SAID YES I WILL PACK YOU AND YOU WILL GIVE ME $50.00 BUCKS.
ON MY WAY HOME FEELING SO MUCH PAIN
AND FEELING LIKE NO ONE WILL HELP ME.
I CALLED MY G.D. (GENERAL DENTIST)
THINKING THEY WOULDN'T TOUCH SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK. BUT THE LADY SAID CAN YOU COME IN AT 3:30PM TODAY.
O.K. WOW. I GOT THERE AND WAS PROMPTLY TAKEN TO THE BACK. DR. SCHETLER CAME IN AND SAID YOU LOOK HORRIBLE. HE PATTED ME ON THE SHOULDER. I EXPLAINED EVERYTHING (10XS NOW) HE SAID THIS REALLY IS A JOB FOR THE ORAL SURGEON. (AND WHO EVER WAS ON CALL) BUT SINCE IT APPEARS YOU ARE GETTING THE RUN AROUND. I WILL TAKE A LOOK, BUT A ORAL SURGEON NEEDS TO REMOVE THAT OTHER MOLAR.
HE GRABBED A DENTAL MIRROR REALLY LOOKED AROUND. THAN LOOKED UP AT ME AND SAID " ROB YOU HAVE A BAD DRY SOCKET" I SAID WHAT IS THAT WHITE STRIP THINGY IN THE SOCKET? I WAS TOLD IT WAS A SCAB (BY DR. BROKLOFF) NO HE REPLIED THATS EXPOSED BONE. THERE'S NO CLOT COVING IT ANYMORE. FINALLY I GOT THE TRUTH. OR ATLEAST AN ANSWER NOT A PROBABLY STATEMENT. THE DENTIST SAID I WILL TREAT YOUR DRY SOCKET. HE SAID LETS GET YOU OUT OF PAIN FOR A FEW HRS. (FINALLY) HE NUMBED ME UP. HE CLEANED OR WASHED OUT THE SOCKET. HE TOLD ME THAT A DRESSING PROBABLY WON'T STAY IN. SO FIRST HE WILL TRY PUTTING DRY SOCKET MEDICINE IN THE HOLE. (HE INFORMED ME IT WILL MOST LIKELY GET WASHED OUT OR DISLODGED WHEN I EAT) HE FILLED THE SOCKET. AND SAID THIS MAY DO IT OR I MAY HAVE TO DO THIS A FEW MORE TIMES
I felt SO GREAT NOW. THE NUMBING MEDS DID THEIR JOB. AND THE DRY SOCKET PASTE IS COMING OUT SLOWLY BUT ENOUGH IS HOLDING ON. I HURT BUT NOT EXTREME PAIN. NOW I HAVE TO ENDURE THIS TILL THE GUM CLOSES OVER THE EXPOSED BONE. I ENJOY MY TIME PAIN FREE CAUSE EVERY FOUR HRS IT SEEMS TO CHANGE. HOPE TONIGHT IT DOESN'T KEEP ME AWAKE. SO THIS IS MY STORY.
SAD AS IT IS. I WON'T JUDGE DR. BROKLOFF. I DON'T KNOW WHY I WAS TREATED THE WAY I WAS. I HOPE HE SIMPLY DIDN'T REALIZE WHAT I WAS SAYING. I DON'T LIKE TO MAKE EXCUSES FOR PEOPLE. BUT I HATE TO GIVE A REVIEW FOR A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL THAT IS UNFAVORABLE (SEEING I DON'T REALLY KNOW HIM) AND I DO NOT WANT TO JUDGE HIM AND ALL HIS MEDICAL SKILLS BASED OFF OF ONE EXPERIENCE.
I READ THE REVIEWS ON THIS DR. AND THE WEB MD HAS HIM AT 2-3 STARS OUT OF 5
Another site has him at 1-2 stars across the board. I WONDER IF ANYONE FROM HIS STAFF READS THESE REVIEWS. PROBABLY
NOT. !!! I BET ITS NOT EVEN A CONCERN TO HIM. I HOPE I AM WRONG. I WOULD THINK HE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT HIS PATIENTS THINK OF HIM. HAS FOR ME I HOPE THIS IS A MISUNDERSTANDING AND
HOPE I CAN STILL SEE DR. BARTHOLOMEW FOR THE OTHER TOOTH EXTRACTION. I DID LIKE DR TIM ALOT. GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES

I highly recommend this place. Their oral surgeon was very thorough throughout the entire visit. I was extremely nervous about getting my tooth pulled without being sedated; he made me so comfortable. He explained where he was going to put the needle when he numbed me, and after he'd do the poke he'd rub it to make the pain fade faster. The entire process took only 4 min. It was the fastest I've ever had a tooth pulled. And I didn't feel a thing, no pressure, no pain. I was very pleased with my visit. Especially bc it was just supposed to be a consultation visit and he went ahead and squeezed me in. Also the dental assistanta and receptionists were very pleasant to talk to. I had an entire conversation with one of the dental assistants the entire time I was waiting for the dr. Again I highly recommend this oral surgeon!

I made an appointment 45 days ago.. The receptionist was EXTREMEL RUDE!!!! Her exact words were "(huff) let me get the schedule.." No can u hold, nothing, just on hold.. She scheduled me 45 days out.. I ""SPECIFICALLY! ASKED"" if they took my insurance.. Answer "yep".. That was it!!! That was her answer!! So..! I Went yesterday, 1/27/16 after waiting for 45 days.. Walked in, the exact rude receptionist asked for my insurance, she looked at it & said "we don't take that insurance." What!!!!! I mentioned that I ""specifically"" asked!!!! Not her problem... What does she care.. Right???? It's not her health!! Or is this what the Doctor allows??'!!??!?! Needless to say, Ive needed to see an oral surgeon 45 days ago!!! After waiting 45 days (which is only a CONSULT I might add) is extremely BS.. I was treated as if they were the only oral surgeon in the state!!! Please! Please!!!! I beg u to call for a different oral surgeon. I've read the doc ratings as well. Sounds like the entire office could care less.. It's all money for them, not a patients care... I think my bad experience was a blessing!!! So... Please!!!!! Please look at Stow & Kent for oral surgeons.

The dentist was rude and treated my husband like a drug addict. My husband is having all his teeth removed and would like to be sedated because he hates dental work. When asking the dentist about sedation the dentist yelled at us and said that if all we wanted were drugs than we came to the wrong place. He said that he can pull all his teeth with numbing medicine and if we did not like it than my husband could just live with the pain. I have never seen a doctor/dentist act this way towards a patient. My husband will be going elsewhere for his dental needs.

I had a molar extracted here last week and even though I was quite nervous, they took their time with me to explain everything and were extremely kind to me during my visit. They answered all my questions thoroughly. During my consultation appointment I had no wait at all. For the extraction appointment they were only 5 minutes past my appointment time. The waiting room is tiny and the building is old, but the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
