My poor husband has had severe sore throat, heartburn, and canker sore issues for YEARS now, so he went to Dr. Durante, who performed a tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy.

After the surgery, my husband was in intense pain.

When Durante called for a post-surgery follow up, my husband asked me to talk to the doctor for him because it hurt to talk. Dr. Durante REFUSED to speak to me on the phone, although my husband was right next to me - saying "it doesn't hurt that bad, put him on the phone."

Shortly after surgery, my husband became ill with ulcerative pharyngitis (canker sores down his throat). Durante did a culture on a TUESDAY, and gave him penicillin to hopefully combat the infection. My husband worsened and couldn't even swallow WATER by Friday, but we still heard nothing from the doctor, so he called the office to see if the results were ready. After making him drive to the office, Durante said "oh no wonder why penicillin wasn't working, you have staph infection!" We spent 5 days in the hospital with IV fluids and an antibiotic cocktail.

Now, not only does my husband STILL get sore throat, heartburn, and canker sores constantly, but now he also has a continuous steam of phlegm that pours down his throat, which Dr. Durante attributes to the surgery. He has no other advice for my husband, and he CONSISTENTLY plays down my husband's symptoms like there's nothing wrong. My husband has an upcoming appointment with another doctor, and I'm happy to not have to deal with Dr. Durante anymore!

The services of the doctors is great, and I keep going back because doctor Patel is excellent. However, the receptionists are what gives my review such a low rating. They completely ignore you when you try to check in, sometimes making me wait for 10 minutes before acknowledging my existence. Then, as if I just showed up, they tell me that I am five minutes late for my appointment. Some etiquette is necessary.

Their front office staff was friendly enough, but assistants took a long time to call back with answers, and did not really answer questions - vague - how can you give vague diagnosis? They didn't help me as much as I was hoping and didn't answer all my questions. If I couldn't find anyone better, I'd return again, but I'm hoping I can find better service somewhere else. The Dr. barely spent two minutes with me at a time - would come in look and send in one of the "girls" as he called them, then he would come in again, and look, and send in one of the "girls" - back and forth- very annoying, and would not listen to what I had to say. I insisted I had an infection but he kept saying vertigo, but...I asked if vertigo give you a fever, so he took culture although he insisted it was vertigo and wanted to do some repositioning maneuver - seems he always wants to do more tests. A week later "girl" call me stating I had an infection and called in prescription (imagine my surprise!) - no follow-up, no diagnosis, nothing. Still 2 months later have not heard, and I call all the time - always has one of the assistants call - he never calls. After insisting over and over - two months later my PCP got report and could not figure it out! Find someone else, especially if you don't like packing a lunch as you have to wait about 3 hours: first hearing test, always; then for him to come in and out, in and out - send in assistants, back and forth - crazy system.

Lots of test and no results. X-rays, allergy tests, and a scope up my nose just to say I have a sinus infection. Awesome, I'm glad you went to medical school for that. I went there because of the sinus infection. Then 4 months later I get a bill for almost $400.00 that's showing 90+ days overdue without a bill or phone call before that. Absolutely insane charges, Durante charged my insurance $300.00 for a 7 minute visit. Perhaps I should send him a bill for 2.5 hours I sat in his waiting room because he was "running a little behind". Not to mention this guy almost killed my friend after a botched septum surgery. You can and should find another doc.
