Dr. Collette Brown Graham is the best. She is knowledgeable, professional , sympathetic and kindhearted. She takes time to listen to her patient and is very encouraging.
I missed her being my doctor.

I heard she was great. It is clear she is knowledgeable but she literally does not have any bedside manner. During the delivery of my first born she continuously made me feel horrible telling me I was not pushing over and over again though I honestly was trying my hardest, she made me feel bad and not good enough, I feel she took away from enjoying the birth of my first born. the day after my delivery she called me "the worlds worse pusher" in front of family. Literally....

I have heard raving review of Dr. Graham but certainly did not have the same experience. I often would be kept waiting in the exam room for easily an hour, no exaggeration! Do not schedule the last appointment of the day or you will be waiting that long. The first appointments of the day seem to be the quickest. I feel I was educated on natural childbirth & knew what I was looking for in a birth experience. However, Dr Graham was apparently not the right doctor for me. After I declined routine interventions, I was asked by Dr Graham, "Why did you choose me to be your doctor?" In addition she said to me, "You tore just like you wanted to" after I told her I did not want an episiotomy. There were many other expressions of poor bedside manner. I would never go back to this doctor and could never make a recommendation for anyone to see her. I am shocked that she has a busy practice and positive reviews.

I read the mostly positive reviews before coming to see Dr. Brown, and was looking forward to the experience. I was interested in having a copper IUD, and wanted to ask her some questions about it and possibly order one.

After at least an hour wait, I went into meet her. She seemed very nice and initially set me at ease, assuring me that it was a simple process. However, while helping me decide if an IUD was right for me, she told me that I shouldn't wait until my early 30s, as I am planning. I am 27. She asked if my boyfriend and I would get married, and when I expressed uncertainty, told me that I needed to move on immediately. Her stated reason for this was not that my body is much better equipped for childbirth now, but that I am "at my cutest and the most likely to attract a husband".

She literally said this. It's not like I haven't heard this common thought expressed before, but I was shocked to hear my doctor give me such antiquated advice. In theory, I appreciate the "let's get real" approach, but this was beyond inappropriate.

She left during my examination to take a phone call. And it's true, the office is very dirty. There are open trash cans, boxes discarded and left open, visible scuff marks on the examination chairs.

Judy, the woman who does scheduling, never did call me back for the IUD, as promised. I returned hesitantly after having an irregular period and strong cramping to check what was wrong, hoping it was not an early pregnancy. (It was not, and Dr. Brown only told me that "it could be any number of awful things.")

When Dr. Brown asked why I never came in to get the IUD, I gave her a look that betrayed my feelings, which she interpreted as blame. She said, "Don't look at me like it's my fault. I wasn't in your house to monitor your decisions" or something to that effect.

Helen, the office manager was very kind and understanding when I explained my reasons for leaving, so I hope it will be addressed.

In summary, I believe Dr. Brown would be a decent doctor for a conservative person about to have a baby. She is very laid back, but to a degree that I find unprofessional and even insulting. She is not someone to see for birth control, or for anyone with even slightly progressive views.

SHe has been my DR for 16 years, I reccomend her to everyone. She is wonderful. She listens to what you have to say. She is compassionate and understanding. The wait time is a little long but that is because she spends time with her patients.
