The reviewer Righttoknowx here ( 'pig', etc.) borrowed the pseudonym of a patient who reported this physician, and who wrote a straightforward Yelp review using that pseudonym. The reporting patient did NOT write the review here.

I came here to research an article I'm writing on therapy abuse. I used a pseudonym years ago, "Righttoknow x", on Yelp to write an anonymous, factual review about my son's care while a complaint, which also included the facts of my own mistreatment by this doctor, was slogging through the medical board investigation. Because of biases against women who report abuse, and unfortunate stereotypes of mental health patients (which the doctor would eventually exploit) I focused on my son's treatment so that the public would have a credible warning. Yelp, for some reason suppressed this non-inflammatory, proven truthful review on a doctor that would eventually lose his license.

I was surprised to see a relatively recent review here using the same pseudonym I used at Yelp years ago. I have a theory as to why it may exist here, but will not go there. I did not write any of the reviews here on "Wellness" , nor do I believe that inflammatory reviews (i.e. those using name-calling like 'pig' ) are particularly useful.

What a pig. Has lost his medical license due to sexual misconduct, professional misconduct, lack of record keeping, etc. You can read the full deposition online. Disgusting pervert.

I saw him several times and finally switched to another Psychiatrist because Dr. Bienenstock was rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. I came to him because I needed help and I trusted that I was in a safe place where I could open up. Somewhere around the 2nd or 3rd session, he said some things that were just plain unprofessional. I was in shock and sat there as he continued his tirade. This happened a few years ago. In retrospect, if I could do it over again, I would have documented exactly what was said and escalated this to the proper authorities. In my opinion, this man should not be counseling anyone and should instead be receiving counseling.

Dr Bienenstock is a gifted and insightful psychiatrist. He is very knowledgeable about meds and is VERY careful in prescribing them - going for minimum effective dose in a methodical manner. Dr Bienenstock is also an excellent talk therapist, as wise and caring man. Dr. Bienenstock always makes sure every single question I had was answered. Excellent with adults and children

I saw him for well over a year, he severely underdiagnosed me and consequently undertreated me with medications which almost led to a tragedy. He also offered to be a therapist and in this role he also did not diagnose me, he did not invite family members where it would have been appropriate and helpful, he wanted to have an emotional relationship with me which was grossly unprofessional. The list goes on - a complete NO. I saw him for almost two years not realizing that he was harming, not helping me.
