The doctor seems knowledgeable but be careful with office staff. I was told that the doctor takes my insurance and later was given a bill for $800 for a regular yearly eye exam for my daughter. I called the office and they were not helpful. I am sure this happens a lot with this office.

I do not recommend Dr. Bernstein. No patience and no understanding for a special needs child. He left a very negative experience for my child.

I like the doctor a lot ! I felt comfortable to talk to him and ask questions . He performed surgery on my toddler and made me at ease during the process . Staff at fair lawn office not too friendly .

The doctor was ok, but he clearly does not have the patience or temperament to work with small children. Curly b#$%@ from his Westfield office is rude, obnoxious, and misinformed. She is one of the last people on earth who should be in a customer service position.

Good doctor. Terrible staff. Staff is rude, scheduling an appointment is more difficult than getting an audience with the pope. Waited for months for an appointment in the Fair Lawn office; due to a death in the family (the funeral is on the same day as the appointment) we asked to change the appointment. The answer of the staff was they could move the appointment one hour later due to a "sudden cancelation", and that we had to take that appointment or nothing. We even asked to go to the Cedar Knolls office; again the same rude response: take an hour later or you get nothing. I am dropping this doctor as soon as I can find a new one. Not worth suffering the staff.
