Ingredients

  • Cooking spray

  • 1 egg

  • 2 egg whites

  • 1 tablespoon canola oil

  • 11/2 cups skim milk

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

Directions

  • Preheat an oven to 450°F and coat a muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray.

  • Whisk the egg, egg whites, canola oil, milk, basil, and cayenne pepper in a mixing bowl. Add both the whole wheat and all-purpose flour, whisking until completely smooth.

  • Fill each muffin cup halfway full and bake for 30 minutes or until popovers are brown and puffy.

  • Remove and serve immediately.
