Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice

  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce

  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar

  • 1 pound ground turkey

  • 1 small green chili (serrano or Thai), finely minced

  • 1 small shallot, finely chopped

  • 1 teaspoon grated lime zest

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 1 pinch pepper

  • 2 teaspoons fish sauce

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1 medium head red leaf lettuce, separated

  • 2 carrots, peeled and julienned

  • 1 red bell pepper, julienned

  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves

Directions

  • Preheat a stove top to medium-high heat.

  • Combine the lime juice, 2 tablespoons fish sauce, and brown sugar in a small mixing bowl.

  • Combine the turkey, chili, shallot, lime zest, salt, pepper, and 2 teaspoons fish sauce. Form into 8 thin patties.

  • Brush the patties with oil and grill for 3 minutes. Flip and grill for an additional 3 minutes or until thoroughly cooked.

  • Toss the lettuce with carrots and bell pepper and divide onto plates. Place two turkey patties over each salad and drizzle with the prepared dressing. Top with mint.
