Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?

Gastroenterology is an exciting field with a wide spectrum of acute and chronic diseases. I chose the field because we as gastroenterologists can truly help patients who suffer from these diseases. The field focuses on many organs and encompasses a broad variety of diseases as they relate to the abdomen and GI tract – from the stomach, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder to the small intestine and colon. The breadth of medical issues within this specialty allows us as gastroenterologists to develop comprehensive yet focused care for our patients.
