Dr. James Nitzkorski is a fellowship-trained surgical oncologist. Dr. Nitzkorski specializes in gastrointestinal cancer surgery, such as colon and rectal cancer, esophageal cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, melanoma and also rare tumors. His special interests include minimally invasive surgery when possible, clinical trials and complex surgery.
Dr. Nitzkorski runs one of the only centers for Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) and Isolated Limb Infusion (ILI) in the region.
Dr. Nitzkorski was raised in the Hudson Valley and returned to the area after spending time in New York City and Philadelphia.

My sister was a recent patient of Dr Nitzkorski. She had emergency surgery on her colon. I spoke with him several times after surgery and found him to be knowledgeable, kind, upbeat inspite
of the ultimate diagnosis. Most importantly he was honest. He spent time explaining the surgery, diagnosis and treatment to my sister and the family. I think he is a great asset to the hospital and . would recommend him to others. I thank him for the kindness he showed us.
