Saw this provider at DH pediatrics in Manchester, which I have been going to since my almost 6 year old son was an infant. We usually see Dr. Travassos, but she had no openings. I recently gave birth to my daughter on 9/15/19 and I had to make an appointment within two days of leaving the hospital. Mind you, I do breastfeed and breastfed my son for 12 months, so this isn’t my first rodeo.. This woman’s lack of knowledge concerning breastfeeding was shocking and I do not recommend that anyone with newborns be seeing her. Ms. Carlson had no idea what cluster feeding was, which is essential for building milk supply early on. She instantly was condescending and almost trying to steer me away from breastfeeding. Never in my life have I felt so belittled because my daughter lost a little weight after coming home from the hospital. Once again clueless, since babies do lose some weight once they are home from the hospital, that’s why they have you schedule a two week appointment to make sure the baby’s weight is back up to birth weight by then. Nope, instead she wanted the VNA to come to my house two days later to make sure she was gaining weight. After the appointment, I decided to come into the office instead to discuss with a provider that had a clue. What do you know, my daughter was back up to her birth weight 2 days later and it usually takes babies 10 days to get there. All I have to say is never again, and Dartmouth needs to look at who they are hiring:
