Muhammed Asad

Dr. Muhammad Asad joined Tennessee Heart and Vascular in 2012 after spending more than a decade in private practice in the Nashville area. He also served as a clinical assistant professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine for several years.
Dr. Asad was a two-time Resident of the Year at Sinai Hospital in Detroit as well as Chief Fellow in his cardiology fellowship program, at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Interventional Cardiology.
In 2013, Dr. Asad was the physician recipient of the Frist Award at TriStar Hendersonville. This is the highest award bestowed upon a physician at any HCA facility. The criteria for nomination for the Frist Award includes demonstrating remarkable concern for the welfare and happiness of patients and has performed extraordinary acts of kindness; demonstrating a level of commitment to community service beyond the daily operation of the facility that parallels their involvement to quality patient care; and someone whose contributions may be overshadowed due to personal modesty and genuine humility.
Dr. Asad's clinical interests include interventional and clinical cardiology, management of heart failure, and non-invasive imaging echocardiograms, including transesopheagal echocardiograms and the management of heart rhythm disorders.
