Dr. Ahmed Ahmed earned his medical degree from Kar El-Einy Medical School, Cairo University. He received his Internal Medicine Residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
He participated in the Cardiology Fellowship program at the University of Missouri in Columbia and is today a member of the Clinical Staff at the University of Texas Medical Center School of Medicine and a Diplomat of four prestigious Board Certifications including Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology.
With advanced subspecialty training in Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Ahmed specializes in blocked arteries in the heart and legs - utilizing the latest technology and medical devices.
Dr. Ahmed has an extensive background in Cardiovascular Disease Screening and management. Through the American College of Cardiology, he has published in many notable medical journals and presented at national cardiology conferences - including the American College of Cardiology and the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics Conferences.
Dr. Ahmed has received numerous Excellency Awards, including the Third Annual Cardiology Fellows Forum of Excellence Award from the American Heart Association and the Young Investigator Award from the First Annual Cardiology Fellowship Conference.
Dr. Ahmed has particular interest in the risk factors of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and high cholesterol and their effects on the heart. He is also interested in the effects of new medical devices and stents used to treat blocked arteries and peripheral vascular diseases.
