I am very unhappy with Dr Schoen and his staff. I broke my pinky toes in March 2017 and I was told that toes heal on their own. Starting June I still had pain on the bottom of my foot behind my pinky toe. Dr. Schoen informed me that their were fragments from the break causing the pain and I had 2 options to fix..... have surgery or not have surgery. I opted to have survey because I wanted the pain to go away. Since I had a bunion on the same foot I asked if he could fix that as well and he agreed. Immediately after surgery (in the recovery room at hospital) Dr. Schoen came in and said.."I dug like a "son of a bitch" on that small toe to get that fragment out but I couldn't get it. I had to make 2 incisions on your toe and I still couldn't get it". He said he will come up with a plan B. 3 days later I went for my follow up appointment and xrays were taken. Come to find out, there were no bone fragments and the pain on the bottom of my foot was a bond spur from walking on the side of my foot when I originally broke my toe. Mind you before the x-ray, his plan B was to cut between the 2 toes and dig again for the fragments however he could not put the skin back between the toes so he was going to sow my 2 toes together PERMANANTLY!! WTF!! I was not allowing that to happen.
Needless to say, I am 6-7 weeks post surgery and I am in a lot of pain from my lower back, hip and foot. I am highly upset and thinking of hiring an attorney. What an experience I have had.
