She then went on to attend medical school here in Dallas at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and graduated with the honors of Alpha Omega Alpha. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Washington University in St. Louis, which is recognized as one of the best programs in the nation.
While in residency she served in medical missions in Ethiopia and Guatemala. She participated in research during medical school and residency and has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national meetings.
