I completed my last of 12 PT sessions today. Tomorrow I'm seeing my hip replacement specialist, Dr. Matthew Clayton of SportsMed Huntsville, for 6 week follow-up.
Physical Therapist Shannon Byers wants me to keep in touch. We says we are family now. He wants me to contact him in the future with even the slightest question, or even if I have a hangnail.
If you live in the North Alabama area, he's the best, and I highly recommend him. I've been to 4 other PT facilities over the years, and they don't even compare to Champion Sports Medicine of Scottsboro, Alabama. The 12 sessions, with each lasting 2 -3 hours, were intensive and challenging. Importantly, he's humorous, and he made the workouts fun. They were just what the doctor ordered and what I wanted. I'm so glad I found Shannon, Dirk and April and Champion Sports Medicine in my hometown of Scottsboro, Alabama. I know I'll never be able to run again (114,000 miles of running, qualifying for 4 Boston Marathons with sub 2:50 times) with the hip replacement, but I believe I'll be able to be very active in the future with several physical activities which I've already initiated.

My first time going and I learnt that some of the exercises I had been at another therapy place was having me doing them the wrong way. The employees here are alot friendlier & nicer.
