I am extremely dissapointed with Dr. Martin's office. I adopted a puppy from a local shelter and Dr. Martin's office is who they contracted out for spays, which was included in the adoption fee. From the get go, I felt rushed at the desk and while I was getting her checked in a young man came from the back and started to play with her and before I knew it her collar was off and he was taking her back. I didn't even get a chance to tell goodbye before her surgery, which was extremely uncalled for. They did a complete hack job on my puppy, when I picked her up she still had dried blood all over her stomach and thighs. The incision was gaping with poorly done sutures. Her incision was about 4 1/2 inches and they only placed 4 sutures. Since picking her up from the office, the incision was oozing. In the days following she had an extremely infected incision, I opted to take her to another vet due to the fact that Dr. Martin's office visit was a complete nightmare, that I didn't want my puppy to relive. The second vet I took her to agreed that it was indeed infected and needed and anitbiotics to take care of the infection. The second vet also stated that he understood fully why I was furious with Dr. Martin's office and he would have defintely done the suturing much differently from Dr. Martin to avoid an infection. For Dr. Martin to be in practice as long as he has, is an aboslute disgrace to what he is doing to these animals. I'm not sure if this had taken place because my puppy was adopted and he would get the money either way, but if I would have known it would have been this bad, I would have had no problem paying out of pocket despite the spay being paid for along with the adoption fee. My fiance and I are absolutely in love with our puppy and only want the best care for her. Taking her to someone that apparently doesn't have compassion for animals isn't the answer. Pet owners please do your research!!!
