Dr. Chernyk is an experienced clinical psychologist working primarily with adults and teens who are struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationships, sexuality issues, substance use and trauma recovery. She has been trained in various evidence-based treatment methods, tends to be practical, solution-focused and direct. She was born and raised in Los Angeles but has lived and worked in northeastern Ohio for over thirty years. Dr. Chernyk has special interests in women's issues, eating disorders, trauma recovery and treating patients whose medical problems have psychological components. She is trained to provide independent psychological evaluations for worker's compensation, perform VA Comp and Pen examinations, conduct critical incident stress management sessions and in conducting pre-surgical psychological evaluation for gastric bypass surgery. She has developed and implemented workplace programs on stress management and coping skills. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, culturally competent and individualized care to all of the people she works with.
