I was appalled at the practices of this so-called hospital. There were multiple occasions in which I would call the hospital to inquire about a patient and the phone would ring endlessly with no answer. Another time I called and the phone rang for 3 minutes before a voice recording came on but I was unable to leave a message and no live person was reached. Once I did get through to a live person, I was transferred multiple times to be told that a nurse would call me back. I never received a call back from anyone. Upon arriving to the hospital, there was no one at the front reception desk and the phone was ringing. I walked around the corner to find a janitor mopping the floor. He found someone in an office nearby eating their lunch. She was not clear in the information that she relayed to me as a family member and after having had such a terrible experience getting through to anyone and getting any information whatsoever, it was very unsettling to think that people we care about are in the hands of such incompetence. I expect more out of our county hospital, I expect more out of the staff to ensure a pleasant and professional experience is extended in times of strife such as hospitalization, regardless of the situation. Even the officer that I spoke to regarding the practices at this hospital seemed dismissive of the importance of such etiquette and professionalism.
