Completely unprofessional in two respects: scheduling/time management. Sessions often go way longer than expected and she'll make you wait. Sometimes as long as 30 minutes. Because she will give you the full 45 min, it creates a backlog of clients.

The second issue is that she does not remain impartial. A friend suggested I see her. Out of my own concern for not wanting to taint her impression of friend, I never mentioned this relationship in therapy, until that friend confided to me that she was having suicidal ideations. The friend didn't respond to me for 5 days, causing me to panic. I called Dr. Shella and inquired about friend, and she said friend was okay. The friend eventually reached out to me, and told me she was okay. Then she kept texting, several times. I felt confused among other things and wanted to talk it out with Dr. Shella before I spoke with my friend.

When I talked to Dr. Shella about it, she said placed the responsibility of reaching to my friend. Why didn't you respond to all of her texts afterward, etc. etc. she accused me of "not being a good friend." To me, the worst part about this was that she scheduled a back-to-back appointment with friend, and did not tell me about it until 5 minutes before my session ended. She saw no problem with this, and asked me "why does it matter?" I tried to explain to her that regardless of the situation, I may not want to see an acquaintance after a session. Her response was astonishing: Why? You're friends with X, she knows you come here.

It seemed completely unprofessional and she seemed to not understand.

I will say that she gave some good advice the 6 months that I went to her. It was a disappointing situation.

Completely unresponsive. Left multiple message after our initial conversation and she never returned my call. Showed a lack of professionalism.
