I had the most disturbing and upsetting experience with Integrated Clinical Concepts - my advice is to seek another practice if you are a parent who is looking for help with your child.

I made an appointment with Integrated Clinical Concepts because I wanted to get help for my 5 year old son who we think might behaving some ADHD issues. When I made the appointment over the phone I asked if it would be okay if I came alone to the first appointment since I know that can be standard anyway when dealing with young children and introducing the concept of behavioral therapy. I was told that was fine. I arrived 30 minutes before my appointment as they requested, and again, let them know it was just me without my son for the first appointment. They were running about 20 minutes late which was a little frustrating. When I was finally called into a room for my intake appointment, I met Judith Ward, the owner and Head Therapist along with a girl that was supposed to be the therapist working with our family. Dr. Ward immediately said to me "this will be very brief since you don't have your son so we can't do your intake." She said insurance wouldn't cover the appointment if my son wasn't there. Her tone and demeanor were very rude, as if I should have known this information.

I asked why I wasn't informed of this when I originally made the appointment, nor the last 50 minutes I was waiting in the waiting room. She said she didn't know. When I responded that it sounded like a miscommunication with her Receptionists she agreed but did not apologize. I told her that as a Therapist I was shocked she would be using such a rude tone with me rather than starting out with an apology about her Receptionists mistake not informing me that I needed to bring my son. She said I was right but then (didn't apologize and) continued to speak to me with rudeness, clearly judging me on the fact that I wanted to meet with a therapist before bringing my son with me. I asked how I would be able to say everything I wanted to say if my son is within earshot and she told me that they can send the kids to the waiting room. I told her I wasn't comfortable leaving my just-turned-5-yr-old in a waiting room by himself and her response was "I mean, really he's five."

Dr Ward treated me as if I were inferior and ridiculous. (Just as an FYI, I actually have my Masters Degree in Developmental and Educational Psychology, which is probably the same education as the girl they planned to match with my family minus the clinical hours.) I've met few professionals (let alone a Therapist!!) that were so judgmental, arrogant, and unempathetic.
