Sharon was the first person I met and she seemed to be very knowledgeable about Medicare requirements/restrictions. She looked over my sleep test and prescription and made an appointment for me to return to pick up a cpap machine and be trained within about a week. The entire process only took a few minutes. Sharon called Medicare and seemed to be able to speak their specialized bureaucratic language such that the transaction went smooth. After having tried other Durable Medical Equipment suppliers, I got the sense that this one does not treat Medicare patients any different than other patients who may have insurance that pays full price for services. Being in a Medicare "competitive bidding" area, I have found that many DME suppliers that accept the lower Medicare payment give a level of service in line with that lower payment. At SleepMed I felt as if I had been treated the same as they treat all of their patients.
