The person who answered my phone call today here is super rude and not welcoming at all. I couldn't believe how insensitive she was when my pet was injured. She wasn't very understanding or caring, and didn't show empathy for my situation. I could tell I wasn't her primary concern. Christmas Eve an hour before closing and five minutes from the office my dog was injured and swollen around his neck, and because they were closing within the hour I was told I couldn't be seen. The emergency clinic was opening two hours later and I was horrified my dog wouldn't make it until then. All I wanted was reassurance that I could wait until the time the emergency clinic opened up and I completely understand how poor the timing was but felt as if she didn't care if my dog lived or died. I find this unfortunate and was very frustrated she wouldn't at least consult the vet or tech and handled things herself. What is most hurtful is that I have used this vet for the past 7 years for three animals and in my time of need was really let down. Fortunately for me my dog was able to make it to the emergency clinic in Havelock where I was treated wonderfully. He will be OK but did require a drain placed and pain med/antibiotics and follow up treatment for drain removal. I can not express more how hurt I was by the situation today and will no longer be taking my animals to this vet. If you know routine visits are all you need then they aren't bad but don't count on them if you are in need.
