Very easy to setup an appointment but wait time to see Dr. Schweinshaupt took over an hour.

Prior to making appointment, I spoke with the nurse in his office via phone and explained my injury. She stated I needed to come in right away to get an x-ray. I was then scheduled to come see him that same day and arrived to my appointment about 10 minutes early.

After my long hour + wait, Dr. Schweinshaupt arrives into the waiting room and examines my foot and ankle. From what he could tell there were no broken bones (which I already assumed) but thought there may have been some tearing / damage of my ligaments. He leaves the room and about 5 minutes later his nurse returns with a sheet of paper that I needed to take to a lab several miles away to get an x-ray taken.

Once I arrive at the lab to get x-rays, they are closed for the day. I wish the nurse that had initially told me to come in right away had told me they did not have any onsite capabilities to do x-rays as I would have probably looked for and gone to a doctor that did have those capabilities.

The following morning (Friday) I arrive at the lab as soon as they open (8am) to make sure they x-rays would get taken and be sent to Dr. Schweinshaupt in time to get results to me. The lab technician assures me they will be sent within an hour or two.

Now back at home, I wait all day and don’t hear back from Dr. Schweinshaupt’s office. I decide to give them a call and once doing so find out that their office closes at noon on Friday. Fantastic!

It’s now just past noon on Monday and I have still not heard from Dr. Schweinshaupt’s office, so I decide to give them a call and inquire about the x-ray results. The nurse on the phone, the same one that I made the appointment with confirms they did receive the x-rays but states Dr. Schweinshaupt has not had a chance to look them over yet but would be doing so shortly and they would be getting back to me with the results.

At around 4:30pm, I’ve still not heard anything back and am worried that they might already be closed or are closing soon, so I give them a call. Once again the same nurse answers. I inquire about the x-ray results and she puts me on hold. After about 15 minutes another nurse picks up the phone (nurse 2) and asks how she can help me. I tell her I’m on hold from nurse 1 and am awaiting results of the x-rays. Nurse 2 still asks me for all my info and states that she’s looking up my file. I can hear papers shuffling in the background. She then puts me on hold. After waiting another 5 minutes, nurse 2 picks up the phone and says “I’ve got your x-rays right here and am looking at them now. Everything looks good. No broken bones no swelling, you’re good.” Well, that’s good news I think to myself as she reads the results but broken bones aren’t even what I went to get an x-ray for and if there was no swelling showing, I’m thinking maybe they’re looking at someone else’s x-ray because I certainly had swelling and still do as of writing this. So I tell nurse 2 that the reason I had the x-rays taken were to check for ligament damage. Again she states that everything looks good on the x-ray and I’m fine. I then ask the nurse why they did not call me with the results and she states that they had just received the x-rays about an hour ago and that Dr. Schweinshaupt had just finished looking them over. Wait a minute I think to myself, nurse 1 told me when I called earlier in the day that they had received them that morning, nurse 2 is now stating that they received them an hour ago. So now I’m sitting there on the phone knowing that one of the nurses has lied to me, one of their patients. Now I’m not so confident about the results she’s read off my x-ray. I then ask if I can speak to the doctor or if he’s busy to please have contact me when he’s available so I can get results from someone that actually knows what they’re looking at or that wrote the notes for the nurse to read because again, broken bones isn’t even the reason why I went to get an x-ray. She states the only way I can talk to him is if I make an appointment and come in to see him. Nurse 2 puts me on hold and nurse 1 picks up, she states the same thing as nurse 2, and says if I want to speak to Dr. Schweinshaupt I must make a new appointment and come see him.

At this point I’m not the happiest camper and am not going to schedule a new appointment. I personally would not recommend Schweinshaupt Walk in & Family Care to anyone. This was worst service and experience I’ve ever had.
