I was given a polite greeting when I walked in. It was nice to be acknowledged. They make sure to treat all their clients equally and without favoritism. They had activities going on for the elderly as I was there. I've always hated it when I've seen favoritism going on at other places I've visited. It's nice that it doesn't happen here. Clean, safe and controlled enviornment. Everything they told me in the beginning ended up turning out exactly the way they said it would. They were able to provide me everything they promised me. I' ve never doubted their abilities.

I felt that taking the time to leave a review for Lytle Nursing Home was an important ending to my grandfather's life. He suffered from Parkinson's and had what we called 'mini-strokes'. He would be sitting up, eating and talking one day, and the next, he wouldn't even be able to look at you in the eye. We originally had him in a brand new, beautifully decorated, centrally located, thought it had everything he'd ever need nursing home (I won't mention the name for legal reasons). This place also cost almost theree times as much as Lytle's Nursing Home. Have you ever known anyone that looked like a super model on the outside, but was ignorant, lazy, and just plain stupid on the inside??? That's what this first place was...and heavy on the lazy. In all the times I visited (which was a lot), I NEVER saw an RN or LVN doing anything but sitting behind a desk and talking on the phone...not a company phone, but their own personal cell phone. And if you needed something and approached them while they were having their very personal discussion, they would give you the 'excuse me...don't you see I'm having an discussion here!' look on their face. Then they would tell the person they had 'to get off the phone' and they'd 'call them back in a minute.' They would rudely answer the question or reluctantly do what was asked of them. The only time anything ever got done was when the wonderful aides were available. Unfortunately, not one of them spoke English, which made it very difficult for English speaking patients to converse with them. My grandfather wasn't there for very long. My grandmother and mother decided to combine homes and move into a new house in Lytle and were thrilled, but reluctant to move my grandfather into the Lytle Nursing Home. They had their concerns...the home itself was a lot older, the cost was a lot less, there wasn't a pretty fountain and fireplace in the front entry like the first place...they were kind of concerned about the whole 'you get what you pay for' saying. But, wanting to have my grandfather as close to them as possible, my grandmother and mother decided to try it out. THANK the LORD!!! This nursing home has the nicest, most compassionate, competent, caring, and reliable staff!!! My grandfather wasn't there very long, because of his passing, but they treated my entire family with the utmost respect during and after his stay. My grandmother actually spent hours with my grandfather, everyday, because she felt so welcomed and comfortable in the setting. My grandfater also was extremely pleased with them. He loved when the staff (nurses and aides) would crack jokes with him...even on his bad days. They would make sure my grandmother was fed and hydrated during her daily visits with my grandfather and even offered to let her stay the night at the end. They laughed with us, they cried with us, they shared stories of their own too. If you are interested in a nursing home that may not look like a five star hotel, but is truely interested in the life of your loved ones, please consider Lytle Nursing Home.
