Taking care of the medical needs of children has been one of the many joys in my life. In an attempt to ensure the best quality of care, I have refocused my method to be more in line with the Medical Home model. As a pediatrician, I work with a patient-centered approach and that means that I believe the health and wellness of your family and of your child is unique. I have been in practice for over 35 years and have practiced in Kansas City for the past 27. I was trained in Pediatrics at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia and at Children’s Mercy Hospital here in Kansas City. As always my staff and I strive for high quality, efficient, and prompt services as it pertains to your child’s medical needs. We provide preventive services in fitness and ideal nutrition, diabetes, and asthma.

Try to make an appointment for my son, obviously they don't care about treating patients all they care is about insurance, even though my son is fully covered they refused to see him never will go there again

My kids and I love Dr. Fernandez. My kids have Medicaid, and Dr. Fernandez is one of the few doctors in KC that will see my kids. Since there is only one doctor, the office is a lot smaller than other places we’ve been. I can usually get an appointment same-day, and the times we've walked-in, there hasn't been an issue. On occasion there is paperwork to fill out, but I know that it helps the doctor help me and my kids better so I don't mind. The staff is friendly and treats me and my kids well. The exam rooms have movie character decals on the walls that my kids love. The office is clean, bright, and child-friendly and the bathroom is always clean too. Dr. Fernandez is always friendly, and really good with kids. Even when it’s flu season, he really works with you to make sure your kids get the attention they need to get healthy. I’m glad that he’s our doctor.
