I have gone to DCA for quite some time. In many cases they "take" some insurance, but for the most part they are not an insurance "participant". Therefore you can expect a great deal of out of pocket expenses for procedures they want to do or products they want you to purchase at exorbitant prices. For example a crown cost well over $1200 and you must pay half up front and the rest at time of procedure. A mouth guard, they want over $600 to make. Another dentist in town charges $50. Teeth cleaning is around $125 or so now. If my Delta Dental Insurance pays $60 to a "participating provider" I find I have to pay the rest ($65) out of pocket. X-Rays are another big ticket item, with major out of picket expenses. Dr. Kim will tell you how bad your teeth and gums are in order to sell you a procedure or service that you may not really need. I have found this out after switching dentist to a DDS that is a participant in the insurance I carry. The reason I gave DCA a three star is because the hygienist do such an outstanding job, and the girls at the front desk are always nice and polite. The dentist's are also nice & polite while gouging you with their outrageous fees and looking for some way to get more money out of you. Enough is enough. I switched to Scott Martin, DDS and am very happy. When I went to Dr Martin's Office to have my teeth cleaned and x-rays I had my check book out to pay and the receptionist said, "you don't owe us anything, your insurance covered it all" . That's a big savings since I have my teeth cleaned every six months.
