I was referred by a relative though I later learned it was based on my relatives positiuve experience with Do0uglas's PA. I had just moved into Maine and had a very complicated medical history that included multiple bouts of cancer and numerous surguries. I thought that given my medical history that any credible physician would have reviewed my history prior to my arrival (since the appt. had been made months in advance and all of my medical files had been transferred to his office). The opposite was true, he started reading them while I was sitting there but stopped after just a very brief few minutes and suggested I just tell him my problem. I was shocked and began to explain ongoing symptoms I was having currently and had been experiencing for awhile. He told me I was drug seeking however I never even asked him for any drugs. In fact, I have never asked any doctor for any medications. I felt completely attacked and hurt. But he said it was all in my head and walked out of the room. I avoided going to another doctor for over another year but after urinating significant blood I went to another doctor who was compassionate and did a thurough work up. I had cancer again and a progressive neurological condition. It is early and no one knows just what the neuro problem may utimately become BUT I wonder if an earlier diagnosis may have helped to minimize my serious health problems I AM NOW EXPERIENCING. tHIS MAN ( I REFUSE TO HONOR HIM WITH THE TITLE DOCTOR) IS AROGANT AND IN MY CASE i BELIEVE HE WAS DANGEROUS TO MY HEALTH ....... A VERY SAD EXCUSE FOR A HUMAN BEING LET ALONE A HEALTH PROFESSIONAL.................. His staff follow in his example and are arrogant and rude to their customers and apparantly follow the motto that their customers shoulod be grateful for being granted the privilege of their services.
