Do not go here. She is the full embodied reason of why I hate Psychiatrists. I just went to go see her for the first time after my previous Psychiatrist retired. I was not referred to her but had waited last minute to make an appointment and she was the only one I could get ahold of. She kept cutting me off each time I would try to answer her question. She was VERY pushy about personal stuff that I was not comfortable talking about. I understand its important to be aware of those things but I dont think its okay to push someone their first visit to give details and react in such an insensitive manner. She acted as though she was asking what I had for lunch. She did not ask about my panic disorder or what causes my panic attacks at all. Nothing relevant. She also kept on pushing more meds on me which I made very clear I did not want. She ended up giving me an SSRI to take for a week or so before I start my period. I know that they first off, dont work that way- they have to build up in your system, and second, that its dangerous to do that. When I asked her if that would even work or was safe, her response was "I dont know, we'll see". Ummmm sorry I'm not your experiment. She laughed at very legitimate questions that I had and referenced to me as "Uneducated". When I said "excuse me?" she went on to explain what uneducated meant... I could not believe how she was acting. I was taken back by it. I informed her that I was educated and wasn't sure where she got that from.... I guess the same place where she got that I was married, had kids, and lived in shreveport, all which is false. I will never go back to her again, but I am genuinely concerned about her other patients that believe she knows best. In the end I felt like she was a pill pusher and to her I was nothing more than a file or insurance claim. She is terrible. Her staff was very nice, though, which was nice since i had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes for my appointment.
