This was my first visit to this office and a colon specialist, but I was having extreme and constant pain and needed some relief. I saw the nurse practitioner and and was analyzed with a anal tear. Unfortunately, after the exam, I was in even more pain, as there was no numbing agents or special equipment used-(just a finger). But I had hope, because I was told the prescribed topical creme had pain killer in it. Well after using the prescribed creme I had zero pain relief and was doing all the other recommended things- warm bath, etc. I was unable to sleep because of the pain and there was not a comfortable position where I was not in extreme pain-I Called the nurse several times pleading for something else for the pain- but was told to be patient and it will be better in a week or so. I was also taking a lot of Ibuprofen then Tylenol but nothing helped. Finally, I was told Dr. Tuckson would call- He did not even want to hear my problem and told me...Obviously you are not happy with our care so I suggest you go to someone else and gave me the name of 4 other doctors. I told him I was only trying to get something that would relieve the pain. He said this is how we treat a fissure like yours and if I still have the same amount of pain in 2 weeks he would see me then. I told him I was a person, not a number, and thought I should be treated as an individual- not one creme fits all, but got no sympathy. After that call I broke down-with a complete feeling of hopelessness and no relief in sight.
