Stephen Spencer, MD, received a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from Indiana University and a master of science degree in biology from Purdue University. He received his medical degree from Indiana University. He completed a general surgery residency at Orlando Health (Florida).

He has a special interest in acute care surgery, hernia and quality in medicine.

In his spare time, he enjoys being on the water, cycling, observing wildlife, and spending time with his wife and two young boys.

Dr. Jansen is an extremely competent surgeon. My entire process with him was nothing but fully professional and he took extreme care to listen to me and explain everything in full detail about what would transpire during my surgery. I did not find him to be "cheeky" as another review suggests at all. I found Dr. Jansen to be very confident in his knowledge & expertise of my situation, but not "cheeky". His confidence was very reassuring to me personally, as I need to feel confident in my surgeons knowledge and experience before they cut on me. I would have no hesitation recommending him to any of my loved ones. My surgical nurse told me if she had to choose a surgeon it would be Dr. Jansen.

I've never seen anyone who is more respected by their staff. The entire staff only had great things to say about working there, and it made me want to return all the more. They've never used foul language, which has bothered me at some of the other places I've been too. They always make an extra effort to be polite and courteous. They are an absolute expert in the field. I would never feel unsafe or apprehensive in their care.
