I hate going to doctors, but this was never an issue with Dr.Porter. I love that he is very A to B, he does most of his work himself, instead of bouncing me around the nursing staff to take all the tests. When I come to my appointment, I am out in 20 minutes. I get seen right away. I never had to wait, which was the case with every other doctor I have visited (sometimes waited for 2 hours). I love his sense of humor and the way he approaches the whole thing - like I am afraid of needles, and when he needed to take my blood test, it was a breeze:) The plus is that I never had to go to outside providers - the ultrasound technician comes to his office, and all my blood tests I was able to get done there as well. Super awesome. When I had to deliver my baby, it was the best hospital - Cedars - and the whole delivery was super professional, he has delivered thousands of babies in his 50 years of practice and he knew exactly what to do, and I didn't have to fight with him that I don't want epidural and I don't want C-section. He totally supported me in my natural delivery and my baby came out super healthy and happy:)

I moved to Los Angeles 5 years ago and struggled with finding an OB-GYN who could even come close to my OB-GYN in my hometown of Hawaii. I had seen two different physicians, one of them being part of the UCLA team, but neither had met my expectations. Upon my first visit with Dr. Porter, I immediately connected with him and his friendly staff. He does not seem to be old school but does keep up with current practice. There is never a long wait and really puts his patients first, and as a registered nurse I totally appreciate that quality in a physician. I am currently pregnant with my first baby and always seems to be available even after hours. He also encourages phone calls no matter what time of day as he says it's better to be informed to be on the safe side. My husband and I are confident that Dr. Porter will make the birth of our baby a great experience for all of us.
