I would not recommend this Dr for someone who has a short bowel diagnosis! He was totally lost and did not know what he was talking about. He basically left my child to die! We had to seek treatment somewhere else. If we had not found treatment somewhere else my daughter would not be here with us today almost 20 years later. At 6 months old he told us she would not make it past a few more months and for us to just face reality! Thank God we did not listen and I hope others see this who may run into the same thing.

My experience with Dr. Elizondo was from 9/1/18 - 9/5/18, as the on-call Pediatric Gastro doctor for my daughter, at Methodist Children's Hospital and it sucked! From much of the STAFF in the ER as well as being admitted, to INCLUDE DR. ELIZONDO!
Dr. Elizondo didn't request for all of my daughter's tests that were suggested by her normal Pediatric Gastro doctor, and then he discharged her when I told him (as well as every nurse that walked in after he left) NOT to discharge her! My daughter had been vomiting for weeks! She couldn't even eat an ice cube without vomiting. Due to Dr. Elizondo's lack of care, he disregarded the most recent tests and lab results that I brought up to the hospital from my daughter's other doctor to show him. Her normal Pediatric Gastro suggested that she have 2 nuclear tests done, which should have been done while in the hospital. For health reasons and age (due to radioactivity), she was discharged and had to wait 2 additional weeks to do the second nuclear test, since they didn't do them at the same time. It ends up, the second nuclear test was what was needed to diagnose her properly with a very severe diagnosis! We already knew she had acid reflux from when she was a few weeks old and Irritable Bowel Syndrome for the last several years. Now, after the UNNECESSARY EXTENDED WAIT for the 2nd nuclear test (emptying of the stomach and 2 CT Scans), we found out that she has Gastroperisis.
The day she was discharged, they didn't feed her because staff brought her 2 breakfast trays that she was allergic to, so when we left around 3 P.M., we had to give her lunch. This caused her to immediately start feeling ill, and I had to call the Dr's office again. Dr. Elizondo happened to be the one AND ONLY ONE on-call; I know because I asked for ANYONE DIFFERENT! I had to call twice to the office answering service and wait for over an hour for him to call me back while my daughter was in severe pain and vomiting again!!! This is the SAME DAY OF DISCHARGE!

He deserves 0 stars, license to be revoked, and to be put through the same agony my daughter went through, so maybe he will know what it feels like, and give future patients better care.
