Dr. Melcher's staff has always been very nice when I have an appointment. Dr. Melcher spends alot of time with me and I never feel rushed when I see him. He is very thorough in his examination. The only complaint I have is how long it takes to get an appointment with him. However, I would rather wait to see him then see another dr.

When I arrived for the appt, I was told that they tried to call me to advise I could not see the doctor I had been scheduled with because I was previously seen by the other physician in the practice. I did not receive a call from them, took off from work and after I became upset and asked to sign something allowing for the transfer of my records once I found another physician, they offered to have me see my "physician of record". I did not want to see him because I was looking for another opinion for the longterm symptoms I had been experiencing. But with that being the only choice, I saw Dr. Melcher- no answers or solutions- only more testing ordered - very uncomfortable appt. because Dr. Melcher was unhappy that I requested to see the other Dr. The staff was not very friendly and basically was making excuses for not having called me in advance of my appt. They scheduled the tests for me and wrote down dates and times- upon arrival at the hospital, I was told I was there on the wrong day (again costing me time from my job) and that I should return the next day. I went back, completed one of the 3 tests, tried to do an MRI, but became claustrophobic. The MRI person called Dr. Melcher's office while I was present on Friday at 4pm and left msg advising that I had been unable to complete the test and would need to go to an OPEN MRI. This was June 15th- it is now August 27th and I am still waiting for someone from the Dr's office to call me about rescheduling the MRI and the test results of the test I was able to complete. I do know however that they received my results from the hospital radiologist because I received a BILL from DR. ADAMS for reviewing the radiologist report- The interesting part for me is that Dr. Adams is the doctor I had requested to see, but was told I could not because I was DR. Melcher's patient. Anyway, this experience has been so upsetting that I felt I needed to document it, and will no longer seek medical care with this practice.
