It was my first time ever going to a gynecologist, so I was extremely nervous. Maybe I should have mentioned that when I went in, then the appointment might have been different. The person who took my blood pressure was really nice, so I thought the appointment would go well. I waited in the room 30-40 minutes. Dr Patel came in very abruptly. I didn't know who she was. I don't remember her introducing herself, so I'm not sure it even was her, but I think it was. She was very to the point and didn't let me talk much about my problem. I thought she would ask me about my history and let me talk about the issues, but no. She just came in and got a swab. She said I need to get a pap smear, told me they will culture the swab, and said I need to come back in a few days when they get the results (I have not received any email with results), and left. The interaction/appointment lasted maybe five minutes. I sat there not sure what to do, so I waited a few minutes and then left. I cried after I left, from nerves, stress, and confusion. Since it was my first appointment to the gynecologist, I don't know if this quick and impersonal of an appointment is standard practice, but I've had more thorough examinations at Urgent Care than I did at this place. I have already scheduled an exam at a different office that seems to be warmer and kinder in their approach. Vaginal issues are already a sensitive topic, and I personally think the doctors who work with vaginas should be sensitive too. I will not be coming back.

Myself and 2 others all had this dr at same time being pregnant. We all had our babies within weeks of each other, ALL 3 of us had un planned & very unwanted Csections. My friend had hers first. She claimed the baby was too big 1week before due date. But after 22hrs of being induced, her baby was cut out & weighed only 6.8. Then My personal birth plan was to go natural. But oh how Dr Patel was easly annoyed to be called in the middle of the night while I was in labor & refused to be induced w/epidural to speed things along. . Then when I finally dililated to 7 my water had not broke so she broke it for me claiming it would help speed things up, she returned 30mins later I was still at 7 & she called a csection. Being it was my first baby I went along with her decision thinking it was best after all the fearful thoughts her& the nurse filled my mind with while I'm in the middle of labor pains, and they had Me to a c-section that left me in the hospital 6days following. I felt she could have handled things with care & patients we could have had my natural planned delivery I waited 9 months to experience. There were no real health scares or issues with my baby once born. 2 weeks later my cousin had the same mysterious problem & was given a section. C sections are for emergencies ONLY not impatient OB's who have no compassion for their patent. My follow ups with her were even worse. now doing research I'm finding Csections are her BIRTH plans. Beware. She also short & rushing out on you while your in mid visit following after birth visits.

My appointment felt a little rushed. I understand that they are busy, but I would have liked a little more time. But, they always take that extra step to make me feel special. I do enjoy my appointments here. Their primary concern is what's best for me, and they only give me the advice that would and the wait to see the doctor was a little long, but she is a great OB/GYN and delivered my healthy baby boy.
