My Mother in law of 42 years; being as a second Mother to me; had two stay events at Talladega Healthcare and Rehab. At nearly 90 years old and having been independent up until she fell and fracture a hip. Following her hip repair surgery went to Talladega Healthcare for rehab therapy. She was there 72 day. The first half of her stay being non-weight bearing on the hip. I could say I found some things one might think was not perfect; but you will not find a healthcare facility any more near perfect than they were to her. Understanding too, that she and we the family were not always the easy to please with somethings. See; she was our Mother, and a very special woman to us and many others that knew her. The care givers became extended family to her and to us as well. And the therapist, not only provided rehabilitation to her body but her emotions and ideas about others less fortunate. More than several times she would tell others, that the physician and caregivers and therapist at Talladega saved her life. And that, they did.
Our family will forever be grateful for the care, and motivation they gave her. Her second stay was when she had an acute situation with congestive heart failure. Again she rehabbed and was able to return home. She since then; 2 years; pasted away; and still staff members remember her and ask about the family; some in fact stay in touch with family members. We will forever be grateful to our extended family. They blessed her and our lives, with the care, the laughter, the kindness, along with the tough love it talks to deal with some of us clannish families. Love and prayer forever to those who care for others. It would have been completely impossible to have provided her the care she required, at home or any place else.

This center is really good, I told the social worker it was a slice of heaven. The nurses, administrative staff, are just supper. They are so gentle and go above and beyond for their patients. The occupational therapy and physical therapy does wonders for the elderly. My mother-in-law was in the best care. Our family would definitely recommend the rehab center to anyone. We are a picky family.

I am going to refer everyone I know here. I absolutely love this place. When I arrived for my appointment the friendly staff seemed to be waiting for me. I was very impressed. One thing I love about them, is that they're always willing to ask for other qualified professionals' advice when they don't have an answer for my question. I never have to worry about them giving me a wrong answer just because they weren't willing to ask for help. It is so refreshing to see a provider that you can tell truly cares about their appearance. They strive to maintain a professional appearance and look their best at all times. They didn't pressure me to buy anything I didn't need, which I really appreciated.

I want Talladega Health care to review my Mother, Thelma's bill, she was thre only one week, according to the nurses and administrative staff, she was dropped from skilled care the first day. I was not aware of this until her 5th day, notified by supervisor nurse in general progress conversation. Mom was unceremoniously discharged with out DC planning and after being started on a new psychotropic med dosed by 2 day,Remeron 30mg@hs along with many other meds at hs.I paid $1000.00. I want forgiveness for the rest of the bill as my Mother did not receive any skilled nursing according to facility. I have written and called several numbers attached to Ombudsmen, and have been informed of more need to have a facility to help me with medicaid application prior to admit, and more info on medicare laws. I paid $87.00 to one bank and $79 to another and drove to these to get the information after admission. all done in only 2 days. I believe we have paid our bill and want it forgiven. My mother is in hospital at Citizens and probable diagnosis of alzheimers, at min psychosis due to Parkinson's. No one triede even an additional day to teach or REACH MY MOTHER VIA ANOTHER STRATEGY. It will cost all she has and more to find appropriate care and a place to live until I can get forgiveness due to hardship from medicaid. All of these are things that a SNF CAN do but did not discuss or even try, I offered any and all help if asked and delivered all that was requested very quickly. (<2days). Please reminisce and realize your responsibilities in this matter. Thank you
