On a recent hunting trip to Kansas one of my dogs sustained a puncture injury to her upper leg. After cleaning the wound and dressing it to the best of my ability. I drove to the town of Russell, stopped at the local sporting goods retailer and the recommended Dr. Nichols. I arrived at his hospital at exactly noon. Even though they close from noon to 1 pm for lunch his assistant met me in the parking lot and when I explained my situation, she immediately called Dr. Nichols on his cell phone. He returned to the hospital within minutes and began examining my dog. The location of the wound required anesthetizing my dog, so I had to leave her for treatment. I met Dr. Nichols at the scheduled time later in the day to pick up my and he answered all my questions and gave detailed instructions of how to care for the wound and what symptoms to look for that would require a visit to my veterinarian back home. I highly recommend Town & Country Animal Hospital and have already shared their contact information with my friends and associates who may travel through Central Kansas in the future.
