On this Thanksgiving Day, I’d like to thank all the healthcare professionals that I am grateful for.
Unfortunately, not all medical professionals remember the Hippocratic Oath, which includes several principles of medical ethics, one being non-maleficence. The concept of non-maleficence is “first, do no harm.” Many people consider that to be the primary consideration, that it is more important not to harm your patient, than to do them good, which is part of the Hippocratic Oath that doctors take.
I am referencing this part of the oath because I am appalled at Dr. Leonid Remenson’s behavior when my very desperate mother-in-law, in need of psychiatric care, spoke to him on the phone and was dismissed by him, as a bully would do to a vulnerable child on the playground. Dr. Remenson, as part of his requirements, to become a prospective patient, he first has a telephone screening. My mother-in-law told him she “acts funny sometimes,” and has “a problem…” She also said that her adult children wanted her to seek psychiatric care. (She was also referred by her medical doctor) Dr. Rememson, had zero compassion and asked her what her problem was. She had a hard time explaining herself. He then told her that when she figures out her problem, she can call him back. WHAT? The psychiatrist is asking the prospective patient to diagnose herself? Feeling very frustrated, my mother-in-law said she’d like to keep her appointment because she really wants to see him. He said he does not want to keep her appointment and does not want to see her. Keep in mind that this so-called Dr. says he specializes in caring for the elderly. I think if he was dead set on the medical profession, he should have pursued pathology where he could perform autopsies. At least no human emotion would come into play. Stay far away from this unempathetic, disgraceful, excuse of a doctor.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Remenson for about a year now. And I must say, it’s one of the more pleasant experiences I’ve had. The office is extremely patient with me and Dr. Remenson was very through in explaining treatment with my family and me. He takes his time answering my all questions. There’s something refreshing when you find a doctor who gives you that “he gets me” feeling. I have recommended Dr. Remenson to friends and even coworkers and I will continue to do so. I can’t say enough great things about him or his staff!

Dr. Remenson did a length evaluation. He crosses his T's and dots his I's. He asked me direct questions and didn't jump into giving me meds. He even suggested some books to pick up to help with my healing. I wasn't 100% overnight but I am now!!

Dr. Remenson made me feel stupid, fat and ugly. He was rude and uncaring. I was bullied into getting on the scale and weight became his top priority of the discussions.
