My mother recently spent a little over two months in this facility. We had many issues with this facility. Your best and most subjective review would be to read the survey report for 12-5-2013 at the following website: www.dphhs.mt.gov/certification.
First, and most importantly, the doctor discontinued my mother's Alzheimer's medications without consulting with the family or her primary care physician. We noticed a decline in her mental status, but assumed she was just slightly more confused because of the different environment. Her decline continued and she also declined physically. I questioned whether or not she might have had a stroke. The facility ordered an MRI and results showed no stroke had occurred. I finally asked the nurses if she was still receiving her Alzheimer's medications and was then told they had been discontinued the day after her admission. She had been without them for 6 weeks. The end result was she went from being a fairly independent woman with mild-moderate dementia to being very dependent with severe dementia. Had we been notified of the change in her medication, the outcome may have been totally different.

Second, she had no pain control for the first week after her admission. When she left the hospital, she needed scheduled Tylenol to control her pain. The medication needed to be scheduled, as mom would not ask for the pain medication. It took over a week (and many requests/complaints) before the order was given for it to be scheduled.
Second, we found her medications on the bathroom floor, on her bedside table, in the bed and in pockets. She was not deliberately "hiding" or avoiding the medications. Rather, she has severe arthritis and had a difficult time handling the medication. The staff was obviously not consistently watching her take her medications.

Third, a hearing aid was lost while she was at the facility --valued at $2500.

There were many other issues that were found to be out of compliance that are described in full detail in the survey report cited above. For your loved one's sake, take the time to read the report.
