This facility cared for my Mother after an extended hospital stay. She was sent here for the primary purpose of regaining her strength and getting back on her feet.

This facility placed papers in front of her within a day or so of arrival, even though her hospital discharge papers stated she was confused at discharge from the hospital. That just seemed to be taking advantage of the patient. She did put our correct home address on the paperwork (I have a copy). This is important to remember.

When I learned of her confusion at discharge I wrote a letter to the facility stating they were not to bother her with any financial questions and provided them with my copy of her power of attorney so I could do so. The staff I dealt with refused to sign the letter acknowledging receipt of the letter and power of attorney. They did finally give a short note stating I had given them the POA.

Within a few weeks they placed an envelope in her room showing what she would pay after Medicare stopped. When I complained they began mailing stuff to me. Only problem was they had already been digging into her financial background and sent correspondence to an address in town, not the one provided on her form. They chose this address because it was not financed whereas the one we live in was. They were already researching her finances and hoped to keep her there a long time.

She did not see the primary doctor of the facility until she had been there for 19 days. I happened to be visiting that day. He spent maybe 15 minutes in her room. The bill later from him charged for 45 minutes.

I have a photo of her supper (remember, she was there to regain her strength). It was a small bowl of soup and a smaller bowl of chopped fruit and a pack of crackers. That was IT! I saw very little meat served. I also witnessed one breakfast when I took her to an appointment in Rochester. It was ONE piece of toast, a small bowl of dried cereal and that was it.

When she was able to stand, I removed her from the facility. Even here they made veiled threats of "medicare may not pay for her stay here if you take her out without a doctor's authorization." I asked several times if removing her was endangering her health or life. They did not answer that it would meaning it wouldn't. The reason they said she could not go? She could not stand nor dress herself...that was it. No medical reason except that.

She has been out of this facility for at least two months and is doing much better. She doesn't go to sleep hungry any longer and her health check today showed she was doing well.

The nursing staff I dealt with seemed to be trying their best, but when you have a patient that cannot stand and the only way to communicate is flipping a switch to light a light on the outside of your room,....their solution was diapers.

I cannot fault the nursing staff, they did seem to be trying and several I interacted with seemed genuine in their care and concern. I also saw several activities that were held for the residents.

this place was disgusting. unequipped to handle the patients. understaffed. the staff was rude. screamed at the residents. cat fights out in the halls all the time between the residents and the staff. the staff was ignorant. very rude. two hours to respond to a call button. dumped the urine from a urinal in the sink. yes, the sink. not the toilet. boarded up the bath tub. not handicap accessible. no buttons to push for wheelchair patients to get in or out of the building. wheelchairs could not even fit in the bathroom. doorways too small. nursing staff did not open patients file to administer nebulizers and drugs needed by the patient. this was on the 3rd day of the patient being there family asked why meds were not admininstered. openly admitted they had not checked the file yet. the staff had a huge attitude problem. not friendly, not helpful, like they had a chip on their shoulder and you were a nuicanse to wait on. read magazines behiind their desks while patients needs went unaddressed. NO WAY would i even put a rat in this facility. it should be totally shut down. smoke filled the hallways from smokers outside and the door left open. i would not even rate it a 1. it was totally a negative digit. shut er down!

THIS PLACE WAS HORRIFIC. My grandma was there for 24 hours in between moving to a new facility. I work as a CNA and i was disgusted by how the staff treated not only the residents but also the family. The facility if filthy. The sheets had dirt and hair on them (that were not my grandmas). There was blood on the floor (once again not my grandmas). The floors and corners had tons of dust and dirt. The bed was broken. There were stains on the chairs. My grandma had fractured her back, that is why she was there so she was a high fall risk and had a bed alarm. I helped her to the bathroom and her alarm went off, it was several minutes before I could get the alarm off and not ONE staff member came to check. and the staff and nurses were RUDE. I WOULD NEVER EVER WANT ANYONE TO HAVE TO STAY THERE. It was worse than a cheap motel.
