Horrible place. It is hard to know where start with the awful things I have witnessed. Kindness, compassion, caring and adequate treatment, especially for dementia patients is severely lacking. I have heard nurses screaming, swearing and threatening elderly dementia patients. A direct quote from of of the Nurses, "You had better stop that screaming or I will give you something to scream about. I have that power." Another quote: "I wish we could give out Hadol and Ativan at our discretion, without having to follow all these rules." When i took out my phone one time to possibly get evidence of the mistreatment, I was told by the Unit Nurse in charge, "You had better not be recording with that thing or else I will smack it right out of your hands and confiscate it." My loved one had several falls in this facility because the Nurse that was supposed to be watching as they used the bathroom was too busy on their cell phone. One fall knocked my loved one temporarily unconscious and they refused to call an ambulance. I have seen wheelchair bound patients be ignored when they said they had to go to the bathroom. After waiting over an hour and finally having an accident, the Nurse then called the patient a "disgusting pig" for wetting themself. This facility has gone thru 3 Social Services Directors in 3 years. When you ask a simple question regarding laws and regulations, Social Services is clueless. They continually do not follow the law. I have had Nurses on numerous occasions refuse to give me their full name. I had one tell me, "as far as your loved one is concerned, I am God"!!! The food is terrible. There is very little in the way of activities. My loved one was virtually ignored. The nursing staff is rude, arrogant and uncaring. This place should be investigated by the state for their numerous violations. i have tried reporting violations yet to date no action has been taken. If you want your loved one to be neglected, mistreated, and emotionally berated, this is the facility for you. If you want your loved one to receive compassionate and adequate care, find another facility!
