Belmont Lodge is sandwiched between a high school, and low income appartments, yet, this is the least of the problems. One of the first things I noticed when I came here was that the building was not handicap-accessible. I didn't see any ramps or wheelchair accessibility, which seemed kind of strange to me. There is a dog that is allowed to roam the facility, and barked most of the night, the rooms are dark, drab and dingy, this paticular room had no air-conditining. No one every came around, had to hunt down staff for water, coffee, ice-packs and worse, pain medication, and when someone did finally responded or found, it seemed like they were annoyed. I understand they're busy, but they should really treat their clients better. Their equipment was ancient. By the looks of it I wouldn't be surprised if they've never replaced any of it. I plan on telling everyone I know about how terrible this nursing home is. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I placed my father in Belmont for a few weeks of rehabilitation after a small stroke. I asked that they remove his catheter immediately. ( I live about 5 hours away and was unable to check on the care they were giving him). A few weeks later they called and reported that Dad was in Park View Hospital. He died of a massive infection after a few hours in the hospital. Belmont never removed the catheter. If I were you, I would not trust this facility with the care of my loved ones.
