I'm a former employee from about July 2008 to November 2009. The owner of the facility is an extremely generous person, very affectionate, friendly, caring, empathetic, sympathetic, basically just a wonderful person. I don't believe she knew about half of what went on in the place. Especially with the afternoon shift. The morning shift, and midnight shift were generally very caring, and resident oriented. They truly try to be there for the needs of the people living in the facility, although there's that one bad apple in the bunch. There always seems to be. It's just a matter of time before they're picked out, and thrown in the compost heap. With that said, the afternoon shift is terrible for the most part. There's a few people that would stay over to work from the morning shift, and they remained very professional. Again, though for the most part, if you have a family member, friend, or someone that you care about in the facility, if I were you, I would definitely make sure I was there during the evenings to keep an eye on the person that I cared about that was living there. Out right abuse, when seen, then reported multiple, multiple times would sometimes lead to disciplinary action, on occasion dismissal. I give them credit for that. But the majority went unreported, I believe due to the culture that's reinforced on the afternoon shift when it comes to the care of the residents. I also believe that the owner is, and was somewhat naive when it came to that. Believing that some of her staff on strictly afternoons were better people than they really were. Don't get me wrong, not all of them on that shift would act that way, but the majority did. There were a few caring souls, as well as the nurses. The vast majority of them were ok as well. There were just one, two, perhaps three that I wasn't quite sure about, and certainly one that I was definitely not sure about. In the spirit of full disclosure, I was fired from this place, and was pretty upset about it at the time, but it's been quite a while, and sometimes I feel incredibly guilty. I'm not writing this out of retaliation, or revenge, I just want people to know before trusting there loved ones to be cared for in this facility. There is a lot of effort into trying to make the residents happy, and in making sure they have a positive quality of life, as well as many on the staff that are dedicated. I'll also admit that this facility takes people that other facilities refuse to accept, so there are a lot of behaviors, but if the person that's working there can't put up with it, then perhaps they should be thinking about a different career.

Let me just say that this business is in one of the safest areas around and you will be pleasantly surprised at how lovely the surroundings are. They were one of the kindest, most caring staff I've ever dealt with. It didn't matter how many times I called with a question or concern, they were always happy to help me. It was very easy to get an appointment. They have a very flexible schedule and get me in quickly every time. I was so impressed with the progress I was able to make after visiting them. All my questions were answered, and I feel a lot more confident and hopeful about the future.
