Dr. Joseph Volpicelli is one of the finest doctors’ I’ve ever met and I used to work at U of P. He is a great diagnostician, highly professional, very bright, and very compassionate, honest and kind. He gives 110 percent to his clients or patients.Heheals very difficult problems and he always respect of the individual. He has quite a way about. I’m not easy to please yet I respect this man. Very very much. He’s a triple crown winner

To Anonymous: If we could take more insurance plans, we would. It is very difficult to get a contract with these insurance companies, especially when we are such a small office with only myself and Kris to support the administrative tasks such as billing. For other types of offices (like Primary Care for instance) they can get coverage very easily but our services are not simple and many plans don't want to pay for substance abuse coverage. You always have the option of submitting proof of payment, which I can provide to you upon request, to your insurance company to get reimbursed but I can't bill them directly. Also, any other Suboxone doctor in this area accepts NOTHING but cash so it really isn't unacceptable.

Dr. V is expensive for what you get, which never really feels like true psychoanalysis. He only takes one insurance plan, which is unacceptable in this day and age. If you're opiate dependent, you can taper down on suboxone, but you have to be in moderate w/d to start it. He gave me a 30 day supply of 8mg sub., which was way more than what I needed, both as a dose and in the number of units. I have heard coming off sub. is worse than a heroin w/d, so it is a drug that should be respected. He can give you a shot of vivitrol, which is a long-acting form of the opiate/alcohol blocking drug naltrexone. He charges $150 just to do that, but the shot lasts for 30 days and is worth considering. All in all, this is not the most professional experience I've had with a Dr.

KL, the survey system comprises a paragraph from your answers to the survey questions; that is why they are formatted similarly, not because we are writing our own reviews. Please call me if you would like to discuss your dissatisfaction with the office; I am always looking to make improvements to the practice. Talk to you soon.

MG, so glad you are enjoying your experience! See you soon : )

They ignored my questions and my appointment seemed rushed. Their staff was not friendly at all, I didn't feel welcome there. I feel like my appointment was pointless. None of my questions were answered, nothing was accomplished, and I felt worse when I left. The office was very easy to locate. I didn't have any trouble finding it at all. I would never visit them again. I was very disappointed. Very disappointed but not surprised in the office shills appointed to write "nice" posts, which is very clear who is writing them as they incredible similar, if not the same down to one different sentence or so. I agree with "beautifully irritated" down there. I have witnessed many good things in this office, but it's all changing for the worse. One of my friends had an od bc of Dr. Volpicelli choosing to use him as a test subject, basically, and plenty more are having more and more problems with him hagig their meds with no reasoning, no askin if the patient is comfortable, etc. and Lauren, you're a nice girl, but stop doing whatever that woman tells you to. She's nothing short of a nightmare and you know it. Grow some. Anyway, this doc is definitely changing his ways, and not for the better.
