Cerebrospinal Fluid Chemistry
Note: Bloody specimen gives erroneously high value due to contamination with blood proteins.
On cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) obtained by cisternal puncture: about 25 mg/dL.
On CSF obtained by ventricular puncture: about 10 mg/dL.
Note: 24-hour specimen is required for all these tests, unless otherwise specified.
