Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 lemons, zested and juiced

  • 1/2 pound capellini

  • 1/2 cup basil leaves, torn or shredded

Directions

  • Put a large pot of water on to boil for the capellini.

  • Meanwhile, zest and juice the lemons and chop the garlic.

  • In a large skillet combine the olive oil and butter over medium heat.

  • When heated, mix in the chopped garlic, black pepper, torn basil leaves, and zest from the lemons and stir.

  • At this time, the water should be boiling. Add the pasta to cook.

  • Remove the skillet mixture from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Slowly add in the lemon juice and one ladle of water from the pot with the pasta.

  • Place the skillet back on the heat, drain the pasta, and add it to the skillet. Toss to coat and serve.
