Ingredients

  • Filling:

    • 3 medium baking apples, cored, sliced thin

    • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

    • 2 tablespoons sugar

    • 2 tablespoons flour

  • Topping:

    • 1 cup quick oats

    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

    • 1/4 cup brown sugar

    • 2 tablespoon heart-healthy margarine

Directions

  • Set temperature of the oven to 325°F.

  • Combine all of the filling ingredients in a bowl. Mix well and then place mixture into a 9 inch baking dish.

  • In another bowl, mix the quick oats, vanilla extract, cinnamon, brown sugar, and margarine. Mix the ingredients only until it has a crumbly texture. Place an even layer of the topping mixture over the apples.

  • Bake the apple crisp for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender. Serve immediately or allow to cool.
