Not a good choice. I know someone who went to him and really regrets it.
After listening to a person who has had problems with this guy, I would definitely go someplace better for my heart problems. I think its really important to be able to have trust in someone who is going to operate on you.

I saw Dr. Calkins in Clinic in the spring of 2006. I travelled from Canada to meet with him and it was so worth the trip. He is extremely knowledgable and his team reviewed my case with care prior to our meeting. He has been accessable to me for questions and will speak with local doctors if that is requested. I am very grateful to have met with him. He is one of the best!

Dr. Calkins is one of my heroes!
Since the time that I met Dr. Calkins nearly 9 years ago, he has been a huge blessing to my husband and I. Additionally, he has been that same blessing to more than 100 hundred of our personal friends. We and our friends have all had a diagnosis of ARVD in our lives. ARVD (Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia/Cardiomyopathy) is a sudden death cardiac disease. We and our friends have either suffered the near loss of one or more of our loved ones to ARVD or we have actually suffered that hugely painful loss. Dr. Calkins is not only an excellent, experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated doctor and researcher, but he is also sensitive, caring, warm, informative, approachable, and a pleasure to be around. Aside from this he is one of the top experts on ARVD in the U.S. and the World. Dr. Calkin's care and dedication to saving lives, as well as helping patients to the best quality of life they can have, was the first thing that impressed me about him. He has continued to impress me in this throughout the years I have known him. Friends of mine have travelled to be seen and treated by him from around the country and the world. It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to refer people to him as I know they will receive top notch care from a true physician.
