About Us:
My name is Lynae Quimby. I am a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist at Esperance Health and Wellness. I have the privilege to work with Dr. David Ionta a Chiropractor on Main Street in Esperance. At Rejuvenate Therapeutic Massage our focus is to assist the body in healing itself. Our bodies are designed to heal and protect themselves. For example: we cut ourselves, we form a scab; we get something in our eyes, our eyes water in an attempt to flush out the particle, we whack our thumb with a hammer and………………what’s the first reaction…………….. To automatically grab it and apply pressure which……………….your body knows that applying pressure to the hurt area overrides the pain message going to the brain. It is called the pain gate theory. According to Dr. Andrew Weil: “Massage nurtures the body’s talent for healing by triggering and supporting the body’s own healing response.” This is accomplished through physically working the tissues, and by reflexively calming the nervous system.
