Addiction: a condition in which the a person physically requires a substance in order to function, for example, drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc.

Drug: any substance that alters the body or functions.

Substance Abuse: dependence of drug or alcohol that effects health.

Withdrawal: symptoms that occur after the drug is stopped after long use.
