Pathologist: Glossary of Terms


Autopsy: examination of a corpse to determine cause of death.

Biopsy: test that removes cells to examination.

Cancer: disease that that causes cells to not stop growing.

Dermatopathology: branch of pathology that studies skin diseases.

Disease: condition that impairs the body and/or functions of the body.

Hematopathology: branch of pathology that studies blood and bone marrow.

Pathology: study of diseases.

Autism: brain disorder that causes repetitive behavior.

Parkinson's Disease: disorder that impairs speech and other motor functions.

Speech: spoken language.

Stuttering: involunatry repetitive syllables in speech.
